| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Ruth (nee Kelley) Bertels of Oak Park, |
| 4 | | who passed away on May 31, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, During her teaching career, Ruth Bertels taught |
| 6 | | every grade in grammar school as well as high school; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Bertels was a member of St. Edmund Parish in |
| 8 | | Oak Park; she had her own webpage and wrote a weekly column, |
| 9 | | "Take Five", as well as a column for the Archdiocesan newspaper |
| 10 | | in Wisconsin; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Bertels was preceded in death by Mary Kelley, |
| 12 | | Kitty Price, and Tim Kelley; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Bertels is survived by her sister, Fran |
| 14 | | Roach; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 17 | | Ruth Bertels, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, |
| 18 | | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
