SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Theresa E. "Terrie" Hall of Rockford, who passed away on October 30, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Terrie Hall was born in Rockford on August 8, 1947 to Joseph and Theresa (nee Bernunzio) Gianquinto; she married Dennis "Denny" Hall on September 2, 1967 in Rockford; and

WHEREAS, Terrie Hall was the former Chief Executive Officer of the Rockford Area Association of REALTORS; she joined the association in 1983 and retired in 2008; she was named association executive in 1998; and

WHEREAS, Terrie Hall was a 3-term Trustee of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois and Trustee of the Natural Land Institute; she was a member of the Rotary Club of Rockford and the Rotary Club of the Villages-Noon in Florida; she was also involved with the Midway Village Marketing Committee, the Chance Meeting Investment Club, the Par None Golf Group, the Birdies & Bogies Golf Group, the Guys and Dolls Golf Group, the Rockford Area Economic Development Council, the Rockford Park District Foundation, the Golden Apple Foundation of Rockford, and the Rockford Valley College's Tech Prep and Computer and Information Systems Advisory Committee; other community organizations in which she had been active in include the Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden, the Sara Ingrassia Jacki Confer Dictionary Fund, the Rockford Area Affordable Housing Coalition, the Rock River Business Development Committee, and numerous local, State and national realtor's organizations; she participated in ALS research studies, including the National ALS Biorepository Pilot Study, the Mayo Clinic Biobank, and immunephenotyping in ALS; she also helped found an ALS support group and worked to help raise money to persuade the local medical community to form an ALS clinic, which opens at Rockford Memorial Hospital in 2015; and

WHEREAS, Terrie Hall received the YWCA's Alta Hulett Award and the Rotary Service's Above Self Award; and

WHEREAS, Terrie Hall was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Crittenden; and

WHEREAS, Terrie Hall is survived by her husband, Dennis; her son, Corey (Sophia) Hall; her daughter, Kari (Michael) Govignon; her grandson, Jackson; her granddaughter, Charlotte; her sister, Angie Goral; her brother-in-law, Ole (Pat) Prestegaard; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Theresa E. "Terrie" Hall, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Terrie Hall as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
