SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas P. Bell of Oak Park, who passed away on August 6, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Tom Bell was born on May 11, 1963 in North Kansas City, Missouri; he grew up in Liberty, Missouri, where he graduated from Liberty High School; he received his bachelor's degree from the Kansas City Art Institute and subsequently moved to Chicago to work in advertising; and

WHEREAS, After 15 years working at a variety of companies, including Enesco, the Mobium Creative Group, and Publicis/Hal Riney, he went back to school and received his Masters in Education from National Lewis University in 2008; he went on to teach art at St. Giles School in Oak Park for 6 years; and

WHEREAS, Tom Bell is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kelly Twohig, and their 12-year-old twin sons, Sean and Seamus; his parents, Dwayne and Carol; his sister Jane Poe, and brothers, Mike (Julie) and Brandon (Melanie); he was the cherished son-in-law of Pat and Gloria Twohig; beloved brother-in-law of Brian (Ellen), Pat, Tim (Beth), Erin (Brian) Obert, and Kate Twohig (Adam Ochsenschlager); the devoted uncle to Laura Poe, Jordan, Tyler, Leah, Reese and Brooklyn Bell, Maura, Molly, Colleen, Sam and Joe Twohig, Ian and Keira Obert, and Gabriel and Elise Ochsenschlager; he is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends from Liberty, Missouri who were his beloved brothers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas P. Bell, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Bell as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
