| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of E. Wilson Slack, who passed away on |
| 4 | | November 1, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack was born on October 9, 1927 in Kaw |
| 6 | | City, Oklahoma; his mother was Clara Hyde; he married the love |
| 7 | | of his life, Shirlene Stoneking, on May 28, 1950 in Nowata, |
| 8 | | Oklahoma; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack joined the United States Navy in |
| 10 | | 1945 at the age of 17; he proudly served his country during |
| 11 | | World War II; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Following his military service, E. Wilson Slack |
| 13 | | attended Oklahoma A & M College (now Oklahoma State |
| 14 | | University), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science |
| 15 | | degree; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack worked for Amoco Oil Company |
| 17 | | (British Petroleum) for 38 years; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, E. Wilson Slack enjoyed golfing, reading books, |
| 19 | | and spending time with his family; and
