2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Isabelle Rose Martin, who passed away on |
4 | | May 26, 2014; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin was born on September 2, 1920 in |
6 | | Kankakee; her parents were Edward and Victorine (nee Pommier) |
7 | | Francoeur; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Isabelle married Francis Martin on Memorial Day in |
9 | | 1942, just before Francis was deployed to the Pacific front in |
10 | | World War II; upon his return, Isabelle and Francis started |
11 | | their family together, eventually moving out to the country and |
12 | | having 9 children; and |
13 | | WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin enjoyed dancing with her lifelong |
14 | | partner Francis, reading novels, shopping, and tending to her |
15 | | flower and vegetable gardens; she also was a devout member of |
16 | | the Catholic Church; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin spent her entire adult life caring |
18 | | for her family; she was always proud of their accomplishments |
19 | | and lives, and she treasured the time she spent visiting with |
20 | | them; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin was preceded in death by her |
2 | | husband, Francis; her parents; a son, John Martin; and a |
3 | | grandson, Nathan Barber; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Isabelle Martin is survived by 8 children, Mary |
5 | | Martin, Terry (Ilga) Martin, Michael (Wendy) Martin, Patricia |
6 | | Martin, Thomas (Sharon) Martin, Susan Simeur, Gloria (Robert) |
7 | | Romero, and Willie Martin; a special niece, Kay (Ralph) Norton; |
8 | | a sister, Blanche Sebastiani; a brother, Ivan Francoeur; 19 |
9 | | grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
|
10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
12 | | Isabelle Rose Martin and extend our sincere condolences to her |
13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
14 | | further

15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
16 | | presented to the family of Isabelle Martin as an expression of |
17 | | our deepest sympathy.
