SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Margaret Melius, formerly of Waukegan, 
4who passed away on September 7, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Margaret Melius was born in Cowdenbeath, Scotland 
6on December 19, 1923; her parents were  James and Annie 
7Archibald; she immigrated to the United States in 1926 and 
8lived most of her life in Waukegan; and
  
 
  
9    WHEREAS, Margaret Melius was a longtime member of the Glen 
10Flora Country Club and an avid bowler; she moved to Lake Worth, 
11Florida in 1987, where she enjoyed golfing and traveling; she 
12returned to Illinois 10 years ago; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Margaret Melius was preceded in death by her 
14husband, James; her parents; her brothers, John and James; and 
15her sister, Isabella; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Margaret Melius is survived by her sons, Michael 
17(Rita) Melius, James (Linda) Melius, and Robert (Judith) 
18Melius; her grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Michael Matayosian) 
19Melius, Melissa (Matthew) Lynch, Alison Melius, and Max Melius; 
20and great-granddaughters, Charlotte Melius Lynch and Reese 
21Matayosian-Melius; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Margaret Melius, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Margaret Melius  as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
