| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Josephine "Jo" Piktel of North Chicago, |
| 4 | | who passed away on October 15, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Josephine Piktel was born on March 11, 1917 to |
| 6 | | John and Pauline Treven; she was a member of Queen of Peace in |
| 7 | | North Chicago, formerly Mother of God; she was involved in St. |
| 8 | | Mary's KSKJ #79 where she was on many basketball and bowling |
| 9 | | teams with her sisters; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Josephine Piktel was known as "Aunt Jo" by many; |
| 11 | | she cooked for every occasion and she taught anyone who wanted |
| 12 | | to learn how to bake her delicious treats; with her husband, |
| 13 | | she loved to go perch fishing off the south pier at the Great |
| 14 | | Lakes Naval Training Center which resulted in numerous fish |
| 15 | | fries in their back yard; she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and |
| 16 | | a fan of many other sports that she enjoyed watching all year |
| 17 | | round; she always enjoyed visits from her great and |
| 18 | | great-great-nieces and nephews; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Josephine Piktel was preceded in death by her |
| 20 | | husband, Frank; her parents; her sisters, Rose Terchek, Mary |
| 21 | | Deram, and Pauline Galinis; her brother, John Treven; and her |
| 22 | | nephew, John Deram; and
