SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Paul I. Poirier of Waukegan, who passed 
4away on October 19, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Poirier was born in Waukegan and was a 
6lifelong resident; his parents were Dan and Viola Poirier; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Paul Poirier served his country as a 
8non-commissioned officer with the United States Army in Korea; 
9and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Following his discharge from the Army, Paul 
11Poirier joined the Waukegan Police Department, where he served 
12for 30 years; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Paul Poirier was preceded in death by a daughter, 
14Pamela Bogdala; his parents; and 5 siblings, Donald (the late 
15Coletta), Daniel (the late Florence), Jim (Rethina), Kenny (the 
16late Maxine), and Rita (the late Carl); and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Paul Poirier is survived by his wife of 54 years, 
18Patricia "Sam" (nee Finley); 3 children, Paul (Diane), Penny 
19(Mark), and Patrick; 5 grandchildren, Mark and Morgan Miller, 
20Elizabeth Bogdala, Paul Jay, and Jessica Poirier; and his many

1nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
4family and friends, mourn the passing of Paul I. Poirier; and 
5be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Paul Poirier as an expression of our 
8sympathy.
