SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Jeffrey D. Reeves of Bloomington, who 
4passed away on April 23, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves was born on November 21, 1951 in 
6Anna; his parents were Richard Thomas and Eulita Penrod Reeves; 
7he married Patricia Fern Beanland on March 26, 1970 in West 
8Frankfort; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves graduated from Southern Illinois 
10University in 1971 and was an avid Saluki fan; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves worked for 40 years at the Corn 
12Belt Energy Corporation, having served as president and chief 
13executive officer of the company for 33 years; he served as 
14chairman of the Soyland Power Cooperative (now Prairie Power 
15Inc.) and as vice president of the McLean County Chamber of 
16Commerce Board; he also served as a board member of United 
17Utility Supply Cooperative and served on many other boards and 
18advisory committees; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves enjoyed playing golf, fishing, 
20snow skiing, and traveling with his family; and

1    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves was preceded in death by his 
2parents and a brother; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Reeves is survived by his wife, Patricia; 
4a daughter, Melissa Reeves, and a brother, Timothy (Carol) 
5Reeves; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Jeffrey D. Reeves; and 
9be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Jeffrey Reeves as an expression of 
12our sympathy.
