SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Marilyn Jean Shineflug, who passed away 
4on November 17, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Marilyn Shineflug was born in Evanston on April 
624, 1943 to Thane and Rebecca (nee Hammitt) Swartz; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Marilyn Shineflug was a Trustee for the Village of 
8Antioch from 1989 to 1993; she became Mayor in 1993 and served 
9until 2001; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Marilyn Shineflug was an active environmentalist, 
11working tirelessly for the well-being of her community; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Marilyn Shineflug was preceded in death by her 
13parents and her brother, Wesley Swartz; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Marilyn Shineflug is survived by her 2 daughters, 
15Karen (John) Moore and Joanne (Jeffrey) Harrison; her 4 
16grandchildren, Nicholas, David, Marinda, and Wesley; her 
17brother, Douglas Swartz; her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Rodgers; 
18and her former husband, Robert Shineflug; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Marilyn Jean Shineflug, and extend our sincere condolences to 
3her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to  the family of  Marilyn Shineflug as an expression 
7of our deepest sympathy.
