| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 5-1-10 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (730 ILCS 5/5-1-10) (from Ch. 38, par. 1005-1-10)

| 7 | | Sec. 5-1-10. Imprisonment. "Imprisonment" means |
| 8 | | incarceration in a correctional institution under a
sentence of |
| 9 | | imprisonment and and does not include "periodic imprisonment" |
| 10 | | under
Article 7. "Imprisonment" also includes electronic home |
| 11 | | detention served by an offender after (i) the offender has been |
| 12 | | committed to the custody of the sheriff to serve the sentence |
| 13 | | and (ii) the sheriff has placed the offender in an electronic |
| 14 | | home detention program in accordance with Article 8A of Chapter |
| 15 | | V of this Code.
