| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 184 on page 2, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 12 through 19 with the following:

| 4 | | "(d) If a newborn infant fails the 2 initial hearing |
| 5 | | screenings in the hospital, then the hospital performing that |
| 6 | | screening shall provide to the parents of the newborn infant |
| 7 | | information regarding: (i) birth defects caused by congenital |
| 8 | | CMV; (ii) testing opportunities and options for CMV, including |
| 9 | | the opportunity to test for CMV before leaving the hospital; |
| 10 | | and (iii) available early intervention services. The |
| 11 | | Department shall develop materials for parents described in |
| 12 | | this subsection (d) and post the materials on its website. |
| 13 | | Health care providers may use the materials developed by the |
| 14 | | Department.".
