AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 235 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 235 as follows:


 
3on page 2 by replacing line 7 with:
 
4"Spectrum Disorders Reporting Act or a developmental 
5disability.
6    For purposes of this subsection, "developmental 
7disability" means a disability that is attributable to an 
8intellectual disability or a related condition, if the  related 
9condition meets all of the following conditions:
10        (1) it is attributable to cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or 
11    any other condition, other than mental illness, found to be 
12    closely related to an intellectual disability because that 
13    condition results in impairment of general intellectual 
14    functioning or adaptive behavior similar to that of 
15    individuals with an intellectual disability and requires 
16    treatment or services similar to those required for those

1    individuals; for purposes of this definition, autism is 
2    considered a related condition;
3        (2) it is manifested before the individual reaches age 
4    22;
5        (3) it is likely to continue indefinitely; and
6        (4) it results in substantial functional limitations 
7    in 3 or more of the following areas of major life activity: 
8    self-care, language, learning, mobility, self-direction, 
9    and capacity for independent living.".
