| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 127 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/127 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 127. Scott's Law Day. December 23 of each year is |
| 8 | | designated as Scott's Law Day, to be observed throughout the |
| 9 | | State as a day to honor public safety workers and to remind |
| 10 | | motorists to slow down, change lanes away from a stationary |
| 11 | | authorized emergency vehicle, and proceed with due regard to |
| 12 | | safety and traffic conditions.
