AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 805

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 805 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. If and only if Senate Bill 1 of the 99th
5General Assembly becomes law, the School Code is amended by
6adding Section 18-8.20 as follows:
 
7    (105 ILCS 5/18-8.20 new)
8    Sec. 18-8.20. Supplementary grants in aid.
9    (a) Notwithstanding any other provision in Section 18-8.15
10of this Code, the amount of State aid under Section 18-8.15 for
11which each school district is eligible shall be no less than
12the amount of the State payment that was received by the
13district under this Code for the 2014-2015 school year,
14pursuant to the provisions of this Code as it was then in
15effect. If a school district qualifies to receive a
16supplementary payment made under this Section, the amount of

1State aid under Section 18-8.15 of this Code that the district
2is eligible to receive for each school year shall be no less
3than the amount of the State payment that was received by the
4district under this Code for the 2014-2015 school year,
5pursuant to the provisions of this Code as it was then in
6effect.
7    (b) If, as provided in subsection (a) of this Section, a
8school district is to receive State aid under Section 18-8.15
9of this Code for the 2015-2016 school year and any subsequent
10school year that in any such school year is less than the
11amount of the State payment that the district received for the
122014-2015 school year, the school district shall also receive,
13from a separate appropriation made for the purposes of this
14Section, a supplementary payment that is equal to the amount of
15the difference in the State payment figures as described in
16subsection (a) of this Section.
 
17    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
18becoming law or on the date Senate Bill 1 of the 99th General
19Assembly takes effect, whichever is later.".
