745 ILCS 10/2-105.5 new

     Amends the Local Governmental and Governmental Employees Tort
Immunity Act. Provides that a local public entity is not liable for damages to property caused by climate-related events, flooding, or the design, construction, or improvement of infrastructure intended to mitigate climate-related events or flooding.

1    AN ACT concerning civil law.
  
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
3represented in the General Assembly:
  
 
 
4    Section 5. The Local Governmental and Governmental 
5Employees Tort
Immunity Act is amended  by adding Section 
62-105.5 as follows:
 
7    (745 ILCS 10/2-105.5 new)
8    Sec. 2-105.5. Flooding. A local public entity is not liable 
9for damages to property caused by climate-related events, 
10flooding, or the design, construction, or improvement of 
11infrastructure intended to mitigate climate-related events or 
12flooding.
