AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1486 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1486 as follows:


 
3on page 4, line 17, after the period, by inserting "If the 
4renter rents a vehicle with less than a full tank of fuel, and 
5the renter returns the vehicle to the person or company renting 
6the vehicle with a full tank of fuel, he or she is not entitled 
7to reimbursement for the excess fuel, unless stipulated in the 
8rental agreement. The person or company renting the vehicle 
9must provide notice of the provisions of this subsection (f-5) 
10regarding fueling of rental vehicles by either posting a sign 
11in the place of business or by writing a provision into the 
12rental agreement."; and

 
13on page 4, by replacing lines 21 and 22 with "attesting that 
14the indicated level of fuel is correct. If the person or 
15company renting the vehicle chooses to provide notice by way of 
16the rental agreement, the rental agreement must contain the

1following statement:"; and

 
2on page 4, line 25, after the period, by inserting "IF THE 
3VEHICLE'S FUEL TANK WAS NOT FULL AT THE TIME OF RENTAL, AND YOU 
4RETURN THE VEHICLE WITH A FULL TANK OF FUEL, YOU WILL NOT BE 
5REIMBURSED FOR THE EXCESS FUEL UNLESS OTHERWISE STIPULATED IN 
6THIS RENTAL AGREEMENT.".
