1 | | Section 15. Commission duties. |
2 | | (a) The Commission shall identify issues concerning the |
3 | | readiness and ability of young adults to find employment after |
4 | | graduating from college or otherwise completing their |
5 | | education that may be addressed by the 99th General Assembly |
6 | | and future General Assemblies. The Commission shall make |
7 | | recommendations regarding the issues identified. The issues |
8 | | and recommendations shall address the barriers faced by young |
9 | | adults who seek employment or promotional
opportunities in |
10 | | State government and possible incentives
that could be offered |
11 | | to foster the employment of and the
promotion of young adults |
12 | | in State government. |
13 | | (b) The Commission shall consult with State agencies, |
14 | | community stakeholders, other universities and institutions of |
15 | | higher education, and local school boards. |
16 | | Section 20. Findings and recommendations. The Commission |
17 | | shall meet and begin its work no later than 60 days after the |
18 | | appointment of all Commission members. By November 30, 2015, |
19 | | and by November 30 of every year thereafter, the Commission |
20 | | shall submit a report to the General Assembly setting forth its |
21 | | findings and recommendations. The requirement for reporting to |
22 | | the General Assembly shall be satisfied by filing copies of the |
23 | | report with the Speaker, Minority Leader, and Clerk of the |
24 | | House of Representatives, the President, Minority Leader, and |
25 | | Secretary of the Senate, and the Legislative Research Unit as |
