AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2690




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2690, AS AMENDED, by 
3replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 
4following:

 
5    "Section 5. The Grade A Pasteurized Milk and Milk Products 
6Act is amended  by changing Section 8 as follows:
 



7    (410 ILCS 635/8)  (from Ch. 56 1/2, par. 2208)



8    Sec. 8. 
After the effective date of this Act, no person 
9shall sell
or distribute, offer to sell or distribute any milk 
10or milk product for
human use or consumption unless such milk 
11or milk product has been pasteurized
and has been produced and 
12processed in accordance with rules and regulations
promulgated 
13by the Department.

14    The term "sell or distribute for use or consumption" means 
15to sell or distribute
to a person for human use or consumption 
16and not for processing or resale in any form.

1    The pasteurization requirement of this Section shall not be 
2applicable
to the unpasteurized milk of a cow, goat, sheep, or 
3other hooved animal that is produced in accordance with 
4Department rules and regulations if
sold or distributed on the 
5premises of the dairy farm. The Department shall adopt rules 
6governing unpasteurized milk sold or distributed under this 
7Section.
