1 | | attend school upon the commencement of such term and (ii) based |
2 | | upon an assessment of the child's readiness, children who have |
3 | | attended a non-public preschool and continued their education |
4 | | at that school through kindergarten, were taught in |
5 | | kindergarten by an appropriately certified teacher, and will |
6 | | attain the age of 6 years on or before December 31 of the year |
7 | | of the 2009-2010 school term and each school term thereafter |
8 | | may attend first grade upon commencement of such term. However, |
9 | | Section 33 of the Educational Opportunity for Military Children |
10 | | Act shall apply to children of active duty military personnel. |
11 | | Based upon an assessment
of a child's readiness to attend |
12 | | school, a school district may permit a
child to attend school |
13 | | prior to the dates contained in this Section. In any
school |
14 | | district operating on a full year school basis children who |
15 | | will
attain age 5 within 30 days after the commencement of a |
16 | | term may attend
school upon the commencement of such term and, |
17 | | based upon an assessment of the child's readiness, children who |
18 | | have attended a non-public preschool and continued their |
19 | | education at that school through kindergarten, were taught in |
20 | | kindergarten by an appropriately certified teacher, and will |
21 | | attain age 6 within 4 months after the commencement of a term |
22 | | may attend first grade upon the commencement of such term. The |
23 | | school district may, by
resolution of its board, allow for a |
24 | | full year school plan.
