3 | | Members of the Human Trafficking Task Force shall serve |
4 | | without compensation. |
5 | | Section 10. Administrative support. The Department of |
6 | | Human Services shall provide administrative and other support |
7 | | to the Human Trafficking Task Force. |
8 | | Section 15. Duties of Human Trafficking Task Force. The |
9 | | Human Trafficking Task Force shall conduct a study on the human |
10 | | trafficking problem in this State and shall hold hearings in |
11 | | furtherance of: |
12 | | (1) developing a State plan to address human |
13 | | trafficking;

14 | | (2) implementing a system for the sharing of human |
15 | | trafficking data between government agencies in a manner |
16 | | that ensures that the privacy of victims of human |
17 | | trafficking is protected and that data collection respects |
18 | | the privacy of victims of human trafficking;
|
19 | | (3) establishing policies to enable State government |
20 | | to work with nongovernmental organizations and other |
21 | | elements of the private sector to prevent human trafficking |
22 | | and provide assistance to victims of human trafficking who |
23 | | are United States citizens or foreign nationals;
|
24 | | (4) evaluating various approaches used by state and |

1 | | local governments to increase public awareness of human |
2 | | trafficking, including trafficking of United States |
3 | | citizens and foreign national victims;

4 | | (5) developing methods for protecting the rights of |
5 | | victims of human trafficking, taking into account the need |
6 | | to consider the human rights and special needs of women and |
7 | | minors; |
8 | | (6) evaluating the necessity of treating victims of |
9 | | human trafficking as crime victims rather than criminals; |
10 | | and |
11 | | (7) developing methods for promoting the safety of |
12 | | victims of human trafficking.

13 | | Section 20. Report. On or before June 30, 2016, the Human |
14 | | Trafficking Task Force shall report its findings and |
15 | | recommendations to the General Assembly, by filing copies of |
16 | | its report as provided in Section 3.1 of the General Assembly |
17 | | Organization Act, and to the Governor. |
18 | | Section 25. Task force abolished; Act repealed. The Human |
19 | | Trafficking Task Force is abolished and this Act is repealed on |
20 | | July 1, 2016.

21 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
22 | | becoming law.".
