| 1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 17.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (20 ILCS 3305/17.5) |
| 7 | | Sec. 17.5. Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness Fund. |
| 8 | | The Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness Trust Fund is |
| 9 | | created as a federal trust fund special fund in the State |
| 10 | | treasury. The Trust Fund shall be held separate and apart from |
| 11 | | all public moneys or funds of this State. All Homeland Security |
| 12 | | moneys received by the Agency under Section 17 from a federal |
| 13 | | department or agency shall be deposited into the Trust Fund. |
| 14 | | Interest earned by the investment or deposit of moneys |
| 15 | | accumulated in the Trust Fund shall be deposited into the Trust |
| 16 | | Fund. The Agency is authorized to expend any moneys in the |
| 17 | | Trust Fund for the specific purposes established by the terms |
| 18 | | and conditions of the federal awards received by the Agency and |
| 19 | | in any amount that the Agency deems necessary to make grants |
| 20 | | and pay expenses in connection with its emergency management |
| 21 | | and preparedness programs.
