AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3311




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3311, AS AMENDED, by 
3replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 
4following:


 
 
5    "Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended  by 
6adding Section 12-4.7f as follows:
 
7    (305 ILCS 5/12-4.7f new)
8    Sec. 12-4.7f. Death records information. At least  once each 
9calendar month, the Department of Human Services shall 
10cross-reference its roster of public aid recipients with the 
11death records information from the Department of Public Health 
12residing on the Electronic Data Warehouse at the Department of 
13Healthcare and Family Services. A public aid recipient who is 
14found to have a death record shall be subject to an immediate 
15cancelation of his or her public aid benefits, including the 
16deactivation of his or her LINK card, in instances where there

1are no other individuals receiving benefits in that assistance 
2unit and upon
certification that the identity of the public aid 
3recipient matches  the identity
of the person named in the death 
4certificate. As used in this Section, "LINK
card" means the 
5electronic benefits transfer card issued by the Department of 
6Human Services for the purpose of enabling a user of the card 
7to obtain Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) 
8benefits or cash.

10    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
11becoming law.".
