| 4 | | "Section 5. The College and Career Success for All Students |
| 5 | | Act is amended by adding Section 30 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 302/30 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 30. Examination; postsecondary-level course credit. |
| 8 | | (a) In this Section, "institution of higher education" |
| 9 | | means a public university or public community college located |
| 10 | | in this State. |
| 11 | | (b) Beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year, scores of |
| 12 | | 3, 4, and 5 on the College Board Advanced Placement |
| 13 | | examinations shall be accepted for credit to satisfy degree |
| 14 | | requirements by all institutions of higher education. Each |
| 15 | | institution of higher education shall determine for each test |
| 16 | | whether credit will be granted for electives, general education |

| 1 | | requirements, or major requirements and the Advanced Placement |
| 2 | | scores required to grant credit for those purposes. |
| 3 | | (c) By the conclusion of the 2019-2020 academic year, the |
| 4 | | Board of Higher Education, in cooperation with the Illinois |
| 5 | | Community College Board, shall analyze the Advanced Placement |
| 6 | | examination score course granting policy of each institution of |
| 7 | | higher education and the research used by each institution in |
| 8 | | determining the level of credit and the number of credits |
| 9 | | provided for the Advanced Placement scores in accordance with |
| 10 | | the requirements of this Section and file a report that |
| 11 | | includes findings and recommendations to the General Assembly |
| 12 | | and the Governor. Each institution of higher education shall |
| 13 | | provide the Board of Higher Education and the Illinois |
| 14 | | Community College Board with all necessary data, in accordance |
| 15 | | with the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of |
| 16 | | 1974, to conduct the analysis. |
| 17 | | (d) Each institution of higher education shall publish its |
| 18 | | updated Advanced Placement examination score course granting |
| 19 | | policy in accordance with the requirements of this Section on |
| 20 | | its Internet website before the beginning of the 2016-2017 |
| 21 | | academic year.

| 22 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 23 | | becoming law.".
