| 3 | | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | | "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the |
| 5 | | Investigations of Sexual Assault in Higher Education Act.
|
| 6 | | Section 5. Investigations. |
| 7 | | (a) As used in this Section, "sexual assault" has the |
| 8 | | meaning ascribed to it in Section 1a of the Sexual Assault |
| 9 | | Survivors Emergency Treatment Act. |
| 10 | | (b) Municipal police with jurisdiction, or if in an |
| 11 | | unincorporated area the sheriff, shall have primary authority |
| 12 | | to investigate allegations of sexual assault at any public |
| 13 | | university or public community college located in this State. |
| 14 | | Campus police departments shall cooperate with, and provide |
| 15 | | assistance upon request to, the municipal police or the |
| 16 | | sheriff.
