| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 3-699.14 as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 3-699.14. Illinois Veterans' Homes plates. |
| 8 | | (a) The Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and |
| 9 | | applications made in the form prescribed by the Secretary of
|
| 10 | | State, may issue special registration plates designated as
|
| 11 | | Illinois Veterans' Homes plates. The special plates issued |
| 12 | | under this Section shall be affixed only to passenger vehicles |
| 13 | | of the first division or motor vehicles of the second division |
| 14 | | weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. Plates issued under this |
| 15 | | Section shall expire according to the multi-year procedure |
| 16 | | established by Section 3-414.1 of this Code. |
| 17 | | (b) The design and color of the special plates shall be |
| 18 | | wholly within the discretion of the Secretary. Appropriate |
| 19 | | documentation, as determined by the Secretary, shall accompany |
| 20 | | each application. |
| 21 | | (c) An applicant shall be charged a $26 fee for original |
| 22 | | issuance in addition to the appropriate registration fee, if |
| 23 | | applicable. Of this fee, $11 shall be deposited into the
