AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3750 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3750 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended  by adding 
5Section 3-699.14 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/3-699.14 new)
7    Sec. 3-699.14. Illinois Veterans' Homes plates.
8    (a) The Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and 
9applications made in the form prescribed by the Secretary of

10State, may issue special registration plates designated as

11Illinois Veterans' Homes plates. The special plates issued 
12under this Section shall be affixed only to passenger vehicles 
13of the first division or motor vehicles of the second division 
14weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. Plates issued under this 
15Section shall expire according to the multi-year procedure 
16established by Section 3-414.1 of this Code.

1    (b) The design and color of the special plates shall be 
2wholly within the discretion of the Secretary. Appropriate 
3documentation, as determined by the Secretary, shall accompany 
4each application.
5    (c) An applicant shall be charged a $26 fee for original 
6issuance in addition to the appropriate registration fee, if 
7applicable. Of this fee, $11 shall be deposited into the

8Illinois Veterans' Homes Fund and $15 shall be deposited into 
9the Secretary of State Special License Plate Fund. For each 
10registration renewal period, a $26 fee, in addition to the 
11appropriate registration fee, shall be charged. Of this fee,

12$24 shall be deposited into the Illinois Veterans' Homes Fund 
13and $2 shall be deposited into the Secretary of State Special

14License Plate Fund.".
