    AN ACT making appropriations.

 

        Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

 

... ARTICLE 1

 

    Section 5.  The sum of $1,000,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for statewide purposes, is appropriated from the Transportation Bond Series D Fund to the Department of Transportation for preliminary engineering and construction engineering and contract costs of construction, including reconstruction, extension and improvement of state and local highways, arterial highways, roads, access areas, roadside shelters, rest areas, and fringe parking facilities and sanitary facilities, and such other purposes as provided by the “Illinois Highway Code”; for purposes allowed or required by Title 23 of the U.S. Code; for bikeways as provided by Public Act 78-850; for land acquisition and signboard removal and control and preservation of natural beauty; and for capital improvements which directly facilitate an effective vehicle weight enforcement program, such as scales (fixed and portable), scale pits and scale installations and scale houses, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for the state and local portions of the Road Improvement Program.

 

    Section 10. The sum of $100,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Transportation Bond Series D Fund to the Department of Transportation for grants to counties, municipalities, and road districts for planning, engineering, acquisition, construction, reconstruction, development, improvement, extension, and all construction related expenses of the public infrastructure and other transportation improvement projects which are related to economic development in the State of Illinois allocated as follows:

  For the municipalities of the State........... 49,100,000

  For the counties of the State having

   1,000,000 or more inhabitants................ 16,740,000

  For the counties of the State having less

   than 1,000,000 inhabitants................... 18,270,000

  For the road districts of the State........... 15,890,000

    Total..................................... $100,000,000

 

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2015.
