Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code. Provides that when closing a State-operated developmental disability facility, the Department of Human Services must ensure that there are available rooms or space at the remaining State-operated developmental disability facilities for recipients who are being transferred from the closed facility to another facility. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental |
| 5 | | Disabilities Code is amended by adding Section 4-710 as |
| 6 | | follows:
|
| 7 | | (405 ILCS 5/4-710 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 4-710. Closure of State-operated developmental |
| 9 | | disability facility. When closing a State-operated |
| 10 | | developmental disability facility, the Department must ensure |
| 11 | | that there are available rooms or space at the remaining |
| 12 | | State-operated developmental disability facilities for |
| 13 | | recipients who are being transferred from the closed facility |
| 14 | | to another facility.

| 15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 16 | | becoming law.
