SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
40 ILCS 5/14-104.01 new

    Amends the State Employee Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that no member of the Civil Service Commission, Board of Review of the Department of Employment Security (other than the Director of Employment Security), Civil Service Commission, Illinois Liquor Control Commission, Secretary of State Merit Commission, Human Rights Commission, State Mining Board, Property Tax Appeal Board, Illinois Racing Board, Department of State Police Merit Board, Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, or Illinois State Board of Elections may establish creditable service in the State Employees' Retirement System for service in that capacity during a term of office commencing on or after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by adding
5Section 14-104.01 as follows:
 
6    (40 ILCS 5/14-104.01 new)
7    Sec. 14-104.01. Suspension of ability to accrue creditable
8service for members of certain boards and commissions.
9Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, no member of
10the Civil Service Commission, Board of Review of the Department
11of Employment Security (other than the Director of Employment
12Security), Civil Service Commission, Illinois Liquor Control
13Commission, Secretary of State Merit Commission, Human Rights
14Commission, State Mining Board, Property Tax Appeal Board,
15Illinois Racing Board, Department of State Police Merit Board,
16Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, or Illinois State Board
17of Elections may establish creditable service under this
18Article for service in that capacity during a term of office
19commencing on or after the effective date of this Section.
 
20    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
21becoming law.
