Amends the General Assembly Organization Act. Limits the number of committees for the House of Representatives to 20. Effective immediately.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The General Assembly Organization Act is amended |
| 5 | | by adding Section 3.3 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (25 ILCS 5/3.3 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 3.3. House committees. Notwithstanding any other |
| 8 | | provision of law, the number of committees for the House of |
| 9 | | Representatives shall be determined by the rules adopted by the |
| 10 | | House of Representatives; however, the number of committees for |
| 11 | | the House of Representatives shall not exceed 20.

| 12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 13 | | becoming law.
