| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Crematory Regulation Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 7 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (410 ILCS 18/7) |
| 7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2021) |
| 8 | | Sec. 7. Powers and duties of the Comptroller. Subject to |
| 9 | | the provisions of this Act, the the Comptroller may exercise |
| 10 | | any of the following powers and duties: |
| 11 | | (1) Authorize standards to ascertain the |
| 12 | | qualifications and fitness of applicants for licensing as |
| 13 | | licensed crematory authorities and pass upon the |
| 14 | | qualifications of applicants for licensure. |
| 15 | | (2) Examine and audit a licensed crematory authority's |
| 16 | | records, crematory, or any other aspects of crematory |
| 17 | | operation as the Comptroller deems appropriate. |
| 18 | | (3) Investigate any and all unlicensed activity. |
| 19 | | (4) Conduct hearings on proceedings to refuse to issue |
| 20 | | licenses or to revoke, suspend, place on probation, |
| 21 | | reprimand, or otherwise discipline licensees and to refuse |
| 22 | | to issue licenses or to revoke, suspend, place on |
| 23 | | probation, reprimand, or otherwise discipline licensees. |
