| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 190 as follows:

| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/190 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 190. National Public Safety Telecommunicators' Week. |
| 8 | | The second full week of April of each year is designated as |
| 9 | | National Public Safety Telecommunicators' Week, to be observed |
| 10 | | throughout the State as a week to honor the dedicated men and |
| 11 | | women who answer calls for help at 911 centers across the |
| 12 | | country. These call takers and dispatchers provide the first |
| 13 | | critical contact for those in need of emergency services. |
| 14 | | Telecommunicators access, monitor, and disseminate information |
| 15 | | of critical importance to the safety of public officials and |
| 16 | | success of public safety goals.
