AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 6226 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 6226 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended  by adding 
5Section 4-106 as follows:
 
6    (605 ILCS 5/4-106 new)
7    Sec. 4-106. Misrepresentation.
8    (a) In relation to the submission of plans, maps, 
9specifications, costs of construction, bids, or contracts for 
10any Department project, it is unlawful for the Department, its 
11employees and its agents to knowingly falsify, distort, or 
12misrepresent any facts concerning, but not limited to, the 
13following:
14        (1) the character, quality, cost, or quantity of 
15    material already used or to be used;
16        (2) the quality or quantity of any work already

1    performed or to be performed; and
2        (3) any other related costs.
3    (b) A violation of subsection (a) of this Section shall be 
4punishable by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by 
5imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both. ".
