HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Gene Pingatore is the winningest coach in Illinois 
3high school basketball history; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Gene Pingatore has been a mentor and educator, 
5both on and off the court, for 50 years at St. Joseph High 
6School in Westchester; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Gene Pingatore became Illinois' winningest prep 
8coach on January 16, 2015 with his 827th victory in his 1,100th 
9game; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Gene Pingatore has guided the St. Joseph Chargers 
11to 7 Elite Eights  and a State championship in 1999; he has also 
12claimed second, third, and fourth place trophies; therefore, be 
13it
  
 

  
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
15NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 
16SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate Cermak Road from 
17South Wolf Road to Westchester Boulevard as the "Gene Pingatore 
18Road"; and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation

20is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with

1State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs

2giving notice of the name of "Gene Pingatore Road"; and be it

4    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be

5presented to the Secretary of the Illinois Department of

6Transportation and
Gene Pingatore.
