| 1 | | HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, It is appropriate for us to remember the many |
| 3 | | sacrifices and contributions to the cause of
freedom made by |
| 4 | | the outstanding men and women who served in the United States |
| 5 | | Armed Forces
protecting our great nation; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Over 600 men and women from Loda Township have |
| 7 | | served in the armed forces,
beginning with the War of 1812; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, There have been a total of 33 men who have given |
| 9 | | their lives protecting America's freedom from
armed conflicts |
| 10 | | (17 from the Civil War, 3 from World War I, and 11 from World |
| 11 | | War II); and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The Village of Loda holds an annual "Loda Good Ole |
| 13 | | Days Celebration" from July 24 to 26, 2015;
therefore, be it
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 15 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 16 | | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the section of U.S. |
| 17 | | Route 45 that runs through Village of Loda as the "Veterans of |
| 18 | | Loda Township Highway"; and be it further
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation |
| 20 | | is requested to erect at suitable locations,
consistent with |
