| 2 | | WHEREAS, It is necessary to recognize those who are |
| 3 | | dedicated to the betterment of the State of Illinois and their |
| 4 | | communities; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edward Royce "Fast Eddie" Sholar, Sr. was born on |
| 6 | | August 16, 1953 at Scott Air Force Base hospital in St. Clair |
| 7 | | County; his parents were Dexter and Norma (nee Schelle) Sholar; |
| 8 | | and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Edward Sholar, Sr. graduated from Alton High |
| 10 | | School in 1971; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Edward Sholar, Sr. was the owner and operator of |
| 12 | | numerous businesses in and around the City of Alton, most |
| 13 | | notably Fast Eddie's Bon Air; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Edward Sholar, Sr. was known to be a generous and |
| 15 | | giving man and an icon for Alton and the region; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, It is fitting to dedicate the portion of Broadway |
| 17 | | from Washington Avenue to Monument Street in Alton in honor of |
| 18 | | Edward Royce Sholar, Sr.; therefore, be it
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
