| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly wish |
| 3 | | to honor the members
of the United States Armed Forces who have |
| 4 | | protected our nation; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, The United States of America has called on her men |
| 6 | | and women in uniform
to protect our national security, to |
| 7 | | advance our national interest, and to preserve our rights and
|
| 8 | | freedoms; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, The members of the United States Armed Forces have |
| 10 | | fought and died for
our country's freedom, and we remember and |
| 11 | | pay tribute to sacrifice that they have made; therefore, be it
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 13 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 14 | | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the new Route 89 |
| 15 | | Bridge in Spring Valley as the "Illinois Valley Veterans
|
| 16 | | Memorial Bridge" to be a daily reminder to the people of the |
| 17 | | Illinois Valley of the sacrifice,
bravery, and heroism of the |
| 18 | | men and women of our Armed Forces; and be it further
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation |
| 20 | | is requested to erect at
suitable locations, consistent with |
| 21 | | State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
