HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, It is necessary to recognize those who are 
3dedicated to the betterment of the State of Illinois and their 
4communities; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, William Burton "Junior" Waite was born in Spring 
6Valley to Burton William and Marie (Cerda) Waite on  August 27, 
71958; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Bill Waite graduated from Hall High School  in 1977 
9and Lincoln Tech in Des Moines, Iowa in 1978 as an ASE 
10Certified Technician; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Bill Waite was the owner and operator of
  Waite's 
12Service and Towing Inc. in Cherry; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Waite was known to be a generous and  giving 
14man and a role model for Cherry and the region; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Bill Waite lost his life from injuries sustained 
16in a work related accident on June 23, 2008; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 
19SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the portion of

1Interstate 80, near mile marker 84.5, between Utica and Ottawa, 
2as  "Bill 'Junior' Waite Way"; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation
  
4is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with
  
5State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
  
6giving notice of the name "Bill 'Junior' Waite Way"; and be it 
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
  
9presented to the Secretary of the Department of Transportation 
10and the family of
  Bill Waite.
