HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Earl J.
4Wiles of Carlinville, who passed away on December 22, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Wiles was born in Carlinville on September
621, 1920 to Reuben and Olive (nee Farrant) Wiles; he graduated
7from Carlinville High School in 1941; he served in the United
8States Navy during World War II as a Gunner's Mate 1st Class,
9serving in both the Pacific and European theaters; on April 24,
101949, he married Frances "Tim" Hewitt at the Chesterfield
11United Church; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Earl Wiles owned and operated R.E. Wiles Trucking
13in Carlinville for over 50 years; he served with the
14Carlinville Fire Department for 52 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Earl Wiles was member of the American Legion Guy
16Baird Post #554 for over 50 years, a member of the Macoupin
17Club, serving as a past President, and a 50-year member of the
18Order of the Eastern Star of Illinois 665 Plainview Chapter and
19the Mt. Nebo Lodge No. 76 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of
20Illinois; he was a past member of the Lions Club and Elks Club;
21he enjoyed going to the Indy 500, attending 21 straight races;
22he enjoyed walking every morning and fishing at Lake Rinaker;

1he most enjoyed watching his 2 grandsons playing sports; he was
2a member of Carlinville United Methodist Church; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Earl Wiles was preceded in death by his parents;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Wiles is survived by his wife, Frances "Tim";
6his son, Greg E. Wiles (Debra); and his 2 grandsons, Brett
7Wiles and Nathan Wiles; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10mourn the passing of Earl J. Wiles, and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Earl Wiles as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
