HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ana Lopez 
4Velez of Aurora, who passed away on December 28, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ana Velez was born in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, 
6Mexico on January 22, 1910 to Lazaro Lopez and Prexedis 
7Castillo; in 1928, she moved to San Marcos, Texas and married 
8Miguel Velez; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Ana Velez and her husband had 12 children, 
10Valdomero, Santiaga, Margarito, Angel, Esteban, Jose, 
11Benancio, Eufracia "Chita", Santiaga, Pedro, Graciela "Maria", 
12and Bernardina; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Ana Velez was affectionately known as "Mita"; she 
14moved to Illinois in 1964 to care for her grandchildren and 
15great-grandchildren; and

  
 
16    WHEREAS, Ana Velez is survived by her sons, Valdomero and 
17Margarito; her daughters, Graciela "Maria" and Bernardina; her 
1840 grandchildren; her 106 great-grandchildren; her 66 
19great-great-grandchildren; and her 
20great-great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3mourn the passing of Ana Lopez Velez, and extend our sincere 
4condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
5her; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Ana Velez as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
