HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Bruce E. Carter, A.A.E., 
4Director of Aviation at the Quad City International Airport, on 
5receiving the 2014 Distinguished Service Award from the 
6American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE); and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The annual Distinguished Service Award is one of 
8the AAAE's highest levels of recognition; the award is a 
9reflection of outstanding accomplishments in the professional 
10and personal life of the recipient;  the recipient also 
11contributes to other aviation organizations, serves the AAAE 
12and its chapters, and participates in civic and community 
13affairs; the award winner exemplifies the best in airport 
14management by continually bringing credit to the profession and 
15the aviation community; all winners are Accredited Airport 
16Executives (A.A.E.) and exemplify the standards that 
17accreditation seeks to inspire; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Bruce Carter began his 40-year career as an air 
19traffic controller in Des Moines, Iowa and has held Director of 
20Aviation positions in Waterloo, Iowa, and in Springfield and 
21Peoria; he joined the Quad City International Airport executive 
22team in 1999; he currently serves as a Second Past President of 
23the AAAE Board of Directors and is a Past President of the

1Great Lakes Chapter AAAE; and
  
 
  
2    WHEREAS, Bruce Carter is a valued colleague and is 
3well-known for his leadership in the nation's airport 
4management community and the broader aviation industry; 
5distinguished service has been a hallmark of his career during 
6his 4 decades in the industry; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Bruce Carter was announced as the 2014 recipient 
8of the Distinguished Service Award at the 86th annual AAAE 
9Conference and Exposition held in San Antonio, Texas in May; he 
10was presented with the award at the Metropolitan Airport 
11Authority of Rock Island County board meeting in December; 
12therefore, be it
  
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
14NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
15congratulate Bruce E. Carter, A.A.E., Director of Aviation at 
16the Quad City International Airport, on receiving the 2014 
17Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of 
18Airport Executives; and be it further
  
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
20presented to Bruce Carter as an expression of our esteem and 
21respect.
