HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marie 
4Patricia Dwyer of River Forest; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Marie Dwyer was born in Chicago on December 24, 
61925 to Frank and Nellie Walsh; she graduated from St. Angela's 
7School, Trinity High School, and Rosary College; she married 
8Tom Dwyer in 1954; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Marie Dwyer briefly taught in the Cicero public 
10school system before becoming a stay-at-home mom; she returned 
11to teaching and taught physically and mentally handicapped 
12children in the Chicago public school system; she earned her 
13master's degree from Northeastern University and finished her 
14career at Shriner's Hospital, helping  severely disabled 
15children; after retirement, she worked part-time for Marshall 
16Field's; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Marie Dwyer was affectionately known as "Gommy"; 
18she enjoyed walking and delivering shortbread or cookies on her 
19tricycle; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Marie Dwyer was preceded in death by her parents; 
21her brother, Frank "Bub" Walsh; and her son-in-law, Alan

2    WHEREAS, Marie Dwyer is survived by her children, Tom 
3(Martha), Sean (Kay), Mary Jo, Molly (Brian), Liston, and JJ 
4(Maureen); her 14 grandchildren; and her 9 
5great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8mourn the passing of Marie Patricia Dwyer, and extend our 
9sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew 
10and loved her; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Marie Dwyer as an expression of our 
13deepest sympathy.
