| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marie |
| 4 | | Patricia Dwyer of River Forest; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marie Dwyer was born in Chicago on December 24, |
| 6 | | 1925 to Frank and Nellie Walsh; she graduated from St. Angela's |
| 7 | | School, Trinity High School, and Rosary College; she married |
| 8 | | Tom Dwyer in 1954; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Marie Dwyer briefly taught in the Cicero public |
| 10 | | school system before becoming a stay-at-home mom; she returned |
| 11 | | to teaching and taught physically and mentally handicapped |
| 12 | | children in the Chicago public school system; she earned her |
| 13 | | master's degree from Northeastern University and finished her |
| 14 | | career at Shriner's Hospital, helping severely disabled |
| 15 | | children; after retirement, she worked part-time for Marshall |
| 16 | | Field's; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Marie Dwyer was affectionately known as "Gommy"; |
| 18 | | she enjoyed walking and delivering shortbread or cookies on her |
| 19 | | tricycle; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Marie Dwyer was preceded in death by her parents; |
| 21 | | her brother, Frank "Bub" Walsh; and her son-in-law, Alan |
