| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Workforce Investment Board was |
| 3 | | created by the Illinois Workforce Investment Board Act; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, The Board is the State advisory board pertaining |
| 5 | | to workforce preparation policy; the Board ensures that |
| 6 | | Illinois' workforce preparation services and programs are |
| 7 | | coordinated and integrated and measures and evaluates the |
| 8 | | overall performance and results of these programs; the Board |
| 9 | | also furthers cooperation between government and the private |
| 10 | | sector to meet the workforce preparation needs of employers and |
| 11 | | workers in Illinois; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The Department of Commerce and Economic |
| 13 | | Opportunity, based on recommendations from the Board, has |
| 14 | | identified several workforce areas and organizations eligible |
| 15 | | to receive Workforce Investment Grants for innovation projects |
| 16 | | to explore workforce development strategies; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, The State of Illinois would benefit from the |
| 18 | | inclusion of cosmetology programs, including barber and beauty |
| 19 | | schools, on the list of workforce areas and organizations |
| 20 | | eligible to receive such grants; therefore, be it
|
