HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Ed Suarez on his courageous 
4actions  of rescuing an elderly driver from an oncoming train; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, At the height of the evening rush on December 23, 
72014, Com-Ed employee Ed Suarez noticed a disoriented 
880-year-old woman drive onto the railroad tracks in Western 
9Springs with a train headed towards her vehicle; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Ed Suarez immediately sprung into action, racing 
11to the side of the woman's car and helping to  carry her from 
12the vehicle before the train tore off her door; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Ed Suarez and another good Samaritan moved the 
14woman to a safe distance until the train had passed; and
  
 
  
15    WHEREAS, Thanks to the quick actions of Ed Suarez and 
16others, no one was injured in the accident; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
19recognize Ed Suarez on his courageous actions  of rescuing an 
20elderly driver from an oncoming train; and be it further

2presented to Ed Suarez as an expression of our esteem and 
3respect.
