| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of |
| 4 | | Christopher John Pluta of Summit, who passed away on January |
| 5 | | 26, 2015; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Christopher Pluta was born in Justice to Edwin and |
| 7 | | Helen Murphy Pluta; he graduated from Wilkins Junior High |
| 8 | | School in Justice and Argo High School in Summit, where he was |
| 9 | | an active member and former manager of the student-operated |
| 10 | | WARG-FM radio station and a sound engineer for the theatre arts |
| 11 | | program; in later years, he helped form the WARG Alumni |
| 12 | | Association; he earned his bachelor's degree in education from |
| 13 | | Governors State University and his master's degree in |
| 14 | | counseling from the University of Illinois-Chicago; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Christopher Pluta taught English as a Second |
| 16 | | Language at Argo Community High School; he also taught at |
| 17 | | Proviso, Lyons Township, and Morton West high schools and at |
| 18 | | the Emilio Zapata Academy in Chicago; over a 30-year career, he |
| 19 | | mentored CEOs, business owners, artists, writers, principals, |
| 20 | | and fellow teachers; and |
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Christopher Pluta was a member of the District 217 |
| 22 | | and the Summit Public Library governing boards; he was a former |
