HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are honored to congratulate Brian Remedi on his
4induction into the Bradley University Athletics Hall of Fame;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Brian Remedi was born on March 10, 1972 to Robert
7and Cheryl Remedi; he graduated from Carl Sandburg High School
8in Orland Park in 1990; while at Carl Sandburg, he was
9All-Conference and All-America in athletics; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Brian Remedi went on to attend Bradley University,
11where he played for the soccer team from 1990 to 1993, first as
12a defender, and then as a midfielder; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Brian Remedi was awarded the Defensive Most
14Valuable Player of the Year in 1991, Most Improved Player as a
15Senior, and at one point, he held the Bradley University record
16for number of career starts at 76; and
 
17    WHEREAS, After receiving his bachelor's degree from
18Bradley University, Brian Remedi worked as a graduate assistant
19for Bradley University's soccer team while earning his master's
20degree in English, serving first under soccer coach Jerry
21Crabtree and then under coach Jim DeRose; and

1    WHEREAS, After serving Bradley University's soccer team as
2a graduate assistant and earning his master's degree, Brian
3Remedi took a communications job with the United States Soccer
4Federation (USSF); he later worked for the Federation
5Internationale de Football Association marketing staff in
6Switzerland; and
 
7    WHEREAS, In the Fall of 2009, Brian Remedi returned to the
8USSF as its Chief Administrative Officer; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Brian Remedi's kind and humble heart helped make
10him a leader on and off the field and throughout his career;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Brian Remedi married Kathleen Blanchfield on
13April 22, 2005, and together they have 2 children, Liam and
14Brendan; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17congratulate Brian Remedi on this well-deserved recognition of
18his athletic accomplishments and contributions to the sport of
19soccer; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
