HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rosie L. 
4"Rose" Sanders, who passed away on February 6, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rose Sanders was born in Glendora, Mississippi on 
6October 18, 1938 to Betty Scurlock and Levi Smith; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Rose Sanders moved to Chicago at the age of 18 and 
8began working for the Sarah Lee Corporation; while there, she 
9met and married Nathaniel Sanders; she retired after working 
10for 20 years with Sarah Lee and started a home catering service 
11and home daycare; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Rose Sanders enjoyed cooking, traveling, and 
13taking care of her family; she was a member of House of Prayer 
14Healing and Deliverance; and
  
 
  
15    WHEREAS, Rose Sanders is survived by her sister, Ida 
16Ballard; her 3 brothers, Willie "Pooh" Smith (Vicky),
Danny 
17Smith (Christine), and Walter Smith (Pat); her 4 sons, Otis

18Williams (Mary), Kenny Smith (Marcia), Alvin
Smith, and 
19Terrance Smith (Audrey); her 5 grandchildren, Cleotis

20Williams, Tammy Conley (Chris),
Micaela Smith, Alivia Smith, 
21and Alvin Smith, Jr. "AJ"; her 2 great-grandchildren,
Caitlyn

1Williams and Aiden; and a host of nieces,
nephews, and cousins; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5mourn the passing of Rosie L. "Rose" Sanders, and extend our 
6sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew 
7and loved her; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Rose Sanders as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
