HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  the members of Franklin 
4Park Professional Firefighters Association Local 1526 on the 
5occasion of the Local's 50th anniversary; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Franklin Park Professional Firefighters 
7Association Local 1526 is an affiliate member of the Associated 
8Fire Fighters of Illinois; and
 
9    WHEREAS, On September 28, 1964, 12 firefighters employed by 
10the Village of Franklin Park Fire Department declared their 
11intent to form a union; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, When Franklin Park Professional Firefighters 
13Association Local 1526 applied for affiliation with the 
14Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois, Thomas White served as 
15President, John Collins served as Secretary, and Lance Barnes 
16served as Treasurer; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The original 12 members were Thomas White, John 
18Collins, Lance Barnes, Virgil Haselow, Paul Rubino, Tomas 
19Webber, John Gronwick, Richard Schiferl, Henry Davis, Arthur 
20Roberts, Witaly Bakalet, and Gerry Rexses; and

1    WHEREAS, Franklin Park Professional Firefighters 
2Association Local 1526 is currently 38 members strong; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6recognize the Franklin Park Professional Firefighters 
7Association Local 1526 upon its 50th anniversary and its 
8continued affiliation with the Associated Firefighters of 
9Illinois; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Franklin Park Professional Firefighters 
12Association Local 1526 as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
