HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rosa Lee 
4Gibbs of Chicago, who passed away on March 31, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosa Gibbs was born in Washington, Mississippi on 
6October 5, 1902 to Dora and Theodore Stewart; she later moved 
7to Gary, Indiana and married Frank Gibbs and they moved to 
8Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Rosa Gibbs moved to Chicago in 1986 to live with 
10her daughter; she was a member of Greater Metropolitan 
11Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Rosa Gibbs worked for the Quarter Master's Defense 
13Company for many years; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Rosa Gibbs was preceded in death by her husband, 
15Frank; her parents; and her 10 siblings; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Rosa Gibbs is survived by her daughter, Margaret 
17Woodside; her 2 grandchildren, Deborah Woodside and Valerie 
18Woodside; her 2 great-grandchildren, Jaleesa Woodside and 
19Jeremy Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear 
20friends, and church family; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3mourn the passing of Rosa Lee Gibbs, and extend our sincere 
4condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
5her; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Rosa Gibbs as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
